Bhutan

The faces, the festivals, the fabulous vistas
that say… Bhutan

Known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon, Bhutan is a remote Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayan mountains, between Tibet and India. It is a land of magnificent scenery, stunning biodiversity, and a population of about 700,000 intent on keeping vibrant their spiritual and cultural heritage. You’ll find breath-taking views, rare birds, monkeys and pandas and yaks, lush tropical plants and mountain-top evergreens; Bhutan has it all. We will visit festivals and markets, ancient temples and active monasteries, schools of traditional medicine and traditional arts, where you will see craftspeople painting, sculpting, weaving, sewing, making paper and rolling incense. The sounds of Bhutan… horns, drums, or silence… will enchant you.

Bhutan opened to the outside world just a few decades ago, and mindfully restricts the number of tourists permitted to visit.
Is this Shangri-la? Some say yes, and they would like it to remain so. Discover for yourself!
